Resources for the Crime Analyst…

Having the right resources can make all the difference. For instance, if you are a crime analyst, you spend a lot of time reading offense reports, arrest reports, working with data, doing presentations, and countless other tasks. To do your job properly, you must have the best tools available. But not just the best tools. More importantly, they have to be the right tools.

As a crime analyst you should be proficient with excel, word, access, power point, and crystal reports just to mention a few. The list is much longer. There are all sorts of web based databases and other tools available if your agency has made the investment.

No matter how big or small your agency is or how much they have invested in technology, your job will be much easier if you know the basics.

Where can you find Resources?

There are many sources available where you can get information on how to use these programs. You can always Google or go to YouTube for help and other resources. However, the information is not always easy to follow.

Because knowledge is so important, I will be creating some courses that will get you the basic knowledge and on your way to more complicated tasks. I am happy to hear any suggestions on what type of courses you would like to see that will help you do your job better and more efficiently.

For now, if you want to get started maximizing the use of the technology available to you, I encourage you to get in touch. Submit the form below with a short description of your problem.  I will be happy to assist in any way I can. If you prefer, we can set up a Zoom meeting or phone call. Just let me know what works best for you.
